It is in the shape of male lions head in a tree trunk with a leaf-like mane and ears to resemble the Tree of Life. Each member's mark changes color to match the owner's original coloring similar to the Mark of the Lion Guard. It is given by the leader of the Night Pride by placing their paw on their right shoulder.
Unlike the Mark of the Guard, the Mark of the Night Pride isn't always visible when it is first received. The Mark of the Night Pride only becomes permanent when the animal who receives the mark decides to stay at the Tree of Life thus joining the Night Pride. When Queen Janna gave Kion the Mark, it's briefly visible before it disappears shortly afterwards. Queen Rani subtly gave the Mark to each member of the Lion Guard by touching each of them on their right shoulder before they departed from the Tree of Life, but the Mark itself was never visible. After Kion gives the role the Lion Guard to Vitani's Guard, Askari appears and encourages Kion to return to the Tree of Life which allows the Mark of the Night Pride to become permanently visible on Kion's body. Kion's friends all agree to Kion's proposal to join the Night Pride and become protectors of the Tree of Life and the Marks of the Night Pride given to them by Queen Rani become permanently visible on their bodies as well.
