The Marvels are a trio of super heroines, compromising of Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel, first appearing in the 2023 Marvel film The Marvels.
The three are brought together after finding themselves in a quantum entanglment, switching places with the other, every time one of them uses their powers. The trio unite to end their entanglement, and defeat Dar-Benn, the cause of their predicament, who is set on revenge against Captain Marvel.
Background[]
After Captain Marvel destroys the Kree's ruler, an AI known as the Supreme Intelligence, a civil war erupts on their planet, Hala. The war depletes the planets natural resources, until the atmosphere is stripped, their water source dries up, and their sun dies. Captain Marvel's catalytic actions earn her the title of the "Annihilator" amongst the Kree.
Dar-Benn, a former member of the Starforce, who witnessed Captain Marvel destroy the Kree's sacred deity, vows revenge. She earns the title of Accuser, and leads a fraction of warriors under her command. She seeks out the Quantum Bands, a pair of ancient Kree artifacts, capable of transport between different planetary systems, in the hopes she can use them to restore Hala to its former glory, by stripping resources from other planets to Hala.
She and her team arrive on MB-418, where they believe the Quantum Bands to be, but only unearths one. Nonetheless, Dar-Benn uses the Bands power, combined with the power of her war hammer, the Universal Weapon, to create a jump points. Without the Quantum Band's other half, the jump points created are unstable.
Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau both make contact with these jump points. Unbeknownst to Dar-Benn, Kamala Khan is in ownership of the other half of the Quantum Band. As all three possess light based powers, they find themselves in a quantum entanglement, swapping places, whenever their powers come into use.
