"May the Best Princess Win" is the sixty-fifth episode of Adventures of the Gummi Bears. It premiered on February 20, 1991, and is the seventeenth episode of the sixth and final season.
Plot[]
A messenger approaches Gregor's castle with an urgent message from King Jean-Claude. It turns out that Jean-Claude has summoned Gregor and Calla for a matter of utmost importance. Calla is reluctant to go, as she recalls her past encounter with Marie. Gregor insists that Calla doesn't have to like Marie, but that she must try to get along for the good of both kingdoms.
While Gruffi, Grammi, and Zummi are on a trip to Ursalia, delivering tools to the city, Sunni accidentally ends up on the royal boat trip with Calla; and Cubbi and Tummi follow closely behind to get her out of the situation.
During the rescue mission, the three Gummies successfully help the girls defend the kingdom against King Jean-Claude's diminutive enemy, the Marquis de Bouillabaisse.

Trivia[]
- Zummi and Grammi Gummi briefly appear at the beginning of the episode, but neither character has any lines.
- This episode marks the second and final appearance of both King Jean-Claude and Princess Marie, and the first time their kingdom is shown.
- Princess Marie reforms from her previous, bad behavior in "Princess Problems" and becomes an ally to Calla and the Gummi Bears, learning of their existence and promising to keep the secret.
- Animation production for the sixth and final season was distributed among several different studios. Responsible for this episode is Walt Disney Television Animation Australia.
- Internationally, the sixth season follows a slightly different order (likely following the intended production order more closely), as the events from the (preceding) two-parter "King Igthorn", are canonically set after the events of this episode.
- The Marquis de Bouillabaisse appears to be a parody of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was characterized by his enemies as a short-statured and short-tempered tyrant.
- Princess Marie's joke during the banquet ends with the punchline: "And so, I said to them, 'Let them eat cheesecake!'" This is a parody of the phrase "Let them eat cake," which was allegedly spoken by Marie Antoinette in response to being told that the people of France were running out of bread.
Goofs[]
- The Marquis de Bouillabaisse is sometimes drawn with four fingers instead of five.
