"Mer-made in Oceanside" is the first segment of the twenty-first episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hailey's On It!
Synopsis[]
Hailey's attempt to find the Oceanside Mermaid leads to a shocking discovery.
Plot[]
Oceanside is celebrating at the Mer-Fair which honors the supposed sighting of a mermaid. Years ago, a blurry image enticed people into believing they were real, made even more so when a young boy fell into the ocean and was "rescued" by one. Hailey believes she also saw a mermaid as a child and plans to see it again. This causes Beta to reveal that seeing the mermaid again is one of her list items, despite his belief that there is no such thing. The group is angered when Kai is revealed to have gone into "business" with A.C. for his glass stone, despite Kai stating that he couldn't find any. Hailey, Scott, and Beta decide to complete the list item while A.C. follows them.
Hailey, Scott, and Beta go swimming in the ocean and split up to see if they can find any trace of the mermaid. Hailey discovers that A.C. is indeed the one stealing the glass stone from the ocean and that he plans on capturing the mermaid for her supposed necklace. Scott accidentally gets his feet tangled in some seaweed and kicks up sand fog, blinding A.C. Based on Scott's appearance, A.C. believes he has found the mermaid and takes a picture. Hailey and Beta continue their search and come across a torn half of a mermaid statue. Hailey is shocked by the revelation that this is what she saw, confirmed when her tracker checks off the list item.
A saddened Hailey returns with Beta and Scott to go and talk with Kai who gathers a crowd around so that they can hear what she has to say. Not wanting to defeat anyone's hopes, Hailey simply says that mermaids are great. A.C. arrives with the photo he took and plans to sell it off for money. However, someone takes a photo of A.C.'s photo, rendering his grift useless. Hailey, Scott, and Beta relax afterwards. Despite getting disproven over the mermaid, Hailey and Scott are just happy to hang out with one another. However, the three are shocked to see a real mermaid in the ocean. She acknowledges them before swimming away.

Trivia[]
- This is the first time Hailey's item completion was rather presumptuous as while she achieved "seeing the mermaid again", she saw a real one shortly afterwards.
- This episode and the next one aired the same day after the mid-season 2 finale of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
- They are also the only two episodes of the series so far to air the same day after a new Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
- Beta admits that Hailey and Scott belong together for being similar.
- Sid the Psychic Squid from "The Beginning of the Friend" was seen in the water when Hailey was looking for the mermaid.
