So earlier this month, it's been reported by various Disney fan sites, including WDW News Today, that Disney has filed a permit for interior demolition work at the mailing address of Stitch's Great Escape!. Once again, many Disney fans desperate to call the infamously maligned attraction permanently closed took this as "evidence" of its "imminent demise".
But there are two problems with this "evidence". One, the permit does not explicitly mention the attraction itself. Two, more importantly, the attraction shares the address withCosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe that's in the same building. As a result, this is not quite definitive enough proof that this permit is for the removal of the attraction itself.
For the record, I personally do not think the attraction is ever going to reopen either. But we should not let anyone's personal opinions on the attraction get in the way of the facts and what we actually know and don't know so far, and what we don't actually know is if it's truly done for.
Sadly, the ride's many detractors do not care and want to declare it dead right away. So I suggest that we should indefinitely lock the article from further non-admin edits until further notice, and if anyone wants to edit the article, especially regarding information on any closures or demolition, they must discuss it in the comments or with an admin first.
Update: Pepper Gaming is now edit warring with me over this. As much as I hate having to play Devil's Advocate here, I must reiterate that we cannot and should not rely on speculation, no matter whose opinion it is. I do wish that Disney finally said something about this ride's fate myself, because this has been a frustrating online dilemma between so many parties involved.
Is it not possible to delete the Comments on the page that make fun of the current situation of the people?
Since I bring up the topic... Why not decide between the administrators and moderators to delete the Comments section on the pages and return to the Talk pages? (In this way, the content of the pages would be discussed, while the Comments in the pages do not provide anything useful, only people talking as if it were a group of "WhatsApp".)
What's wrong with page that I've been editing? I think it looks ok. I love Alice. She's my favorite Disney character. I like the information I added to the page and I wanted to keep it that what. Why won't you let me keep it?
I'm suspicious of you. Your actions on the Alice gallery remind me of someone I previously had banned from this site. For the record you don't upload gibberish named image files and it doesn't matter if she's your favourite. We run an exclusive Wiki. So, don't always expect that your edits will stay, because it doesn't work that way around here.
