"Mickey's Color Adventure" is the twenty-second episode from the first season of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It originally aired on Playhouse Disney (now known as Disney Jr.) on January 13, 2007.

Synopsis[]

The Clubhouse is losing all of its color and turning black and white (reminiscent of the 1920s and 1930s)! Mickey and his friends have to become "super color collectors" and collect items in the six colors of the rainbow to refill the Clubhouse's Rainbow Color Machine that Professor Von Drake owns.

Plot[]

The episode begins in the clubhouse with Mickey greeting the viewers, then quickly discovers that the color inside the clubhouse is mysteriously disappearing. Mickey calls Ludwig Von Drake if he can figure out what is happening, and the scientist shows Mickey that the clubhouse's rainbow machine is running out of colors. To fix it, they must find six different objects, one for each color of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Mickey realizes he's wearing red, but Von Drake says the rainbow machine doesn't accept clothes. Von Drake pulls out his rainbow catcher to gauge their progress. Mickey then heads over to the Mouse-ke-doer to pick up their Mousketools: a pair of safety scissors, a fishing rod, a shovel, and the mystery Mousketool.

Mickey and Von Drake begin searching for colorful objects to refuel the rainbow machine, and they spot Pluto's red ball and Mickey's orange whistle just as more color begin disappearing. They then go outside to find Minnie watering her flowers, but the color disappears from all except for one of them. Mickey then calls Toodles and uses the shovel to collect the remaining yellow flower. The group heads over to the lake and see Donald playing with some rubber duckies just as the color around the lake disappears. Mickey calls Toodles again and uses the fishing rod to obtain Donald's green rubber duck.

The group later finds Daisy, who has kept a blue bow inside one of her boxes. Once the group figures out which box the bow is in, Mickey calls Toodles once more for the pair of safety scissors, allowing Donald to open the box and give Daisy her blue bow. The group then find Goofy, and with his help they find the final colorful object: purple plums, but they are too high on the tree. Mickey calls Toodles one last time to get the mystery Mousketool: blocks. Mickey and Goofy stack the blocks from largest to smallest to build a staircase to get a plum before the color on the tree disappears. The gang then returns to Clubhouse with all of their colorful objects and successfully refuel the Rainbow Machine, restoring the colors to the Clubhouse world. The episode ends with the gang celebrating by doing the Hot Dog Dance before leaving the Clubhouse and Mickey waving goodbye to the viewers.

Cast[]

Mouseketools[]

  • Safety scissors (to open Daisy's box to get the blue bow) (chosen third)
  • A fishing rod (to get Donald's green ducky from Circle Lake) (chosen second)
  • A shovel (to dig out the yellow flower) (chosen first)
  • A bunch of blocks (Mystery Mouseketool, to reach the purple plum) (chosen fourth)

Trivia[]

  • This episode has never been released on DVD in the US as of yet.
  • The clubhouse turning black and white is a reference to the old black and white cartoons from Mickey's early years from the late 1920s to the mid-late 1930s.
  • This episode is almost similar to "Mickey and the Color Caper".
  • This and "Goofy the Great" aired after the day the Disney Channel premiered the That's So Raven spin-off Cory in the House, and both aired the exact same day Johnny and the Sprites premiered.
  • This rainbow only has six colors, while a real rainbow has seven colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet (which is a shade of purple).
  • The color objects that the friends collected are:
    • Pluto: Red Ball
    • Mickey: Orange Whistle
    • Minnie: Yellow Flower
    • Donald: Green Rubber Duck
    • Daisy: Blue Bow
    • Goofy: Purple Plum
  • Daisy's blue bow is the same one that Donald gave her in "A Surprise for Minnie".

Goofs[]

  • The rainbow machine and Professor Von Drake's Rainbow Catcher colors are in reverse.
  • A similar error to the one from Donald's Lost Lion: The color background for each Mouseketool in order was: yellow, purple, green, orange. But later when Mickey and his friends were calling Toodles, the order of colors is different. It's: yellow, green, blue, purple.
  • Ludwig Von Drake says the rainbow machine doesn't take clothes, yet it was able to take Daisy's blue bow.
  • Toodles' red parts are in black and white, and his screen changes after popping out of the Mousekedoer in the Mousekedoer Song. His animation is also different, probably because it was a new animation.
  • After Mickey gets Donald's green rubber ducky out of the water, the rubber ducky's orange beak turns green, like the rubber ducky itself.
  • Ludwig Von Drake disappears before everyone does the Hot Dog Dance, because the animation was archived footage and not new footage like in "Mickey's Great Clubhouse Hunt", which was released later on.
  • In the Turkish dub of this episode (which can be viewed on Disney+), the entire Hot Dog Dance is left instrumental (except for Pluto barking to the beat and when Mickey recaps the Mouseketools they used, as well as him saying "That's me!" and "See ya real soon!").
  • When Mickey, Ludwig, and Minnie approach Goofy after he dives into a heap of leaves, Minnie's bow disappears, but in the next shot featuring Minnie, it reappears again.
  • When Mickey and the Viewers were looking for a red thing. Pluto wasn't seen behind Mickey until Mickey spots him.
  • If you look closely the road in the yard looks different.
  • When Mickey is spotting for something yellow, there are only three bushes shown.
    • Also when Mickey spots the garden with flowers, Minnie isn't shown there until the very next scene.
  • When Mickey spots the lake, Donald isn't shown there until the very next scene.
  • When the safety scissors are being picked, Toodles start spinning his ears. That happened previously in Sleeping Minnie.
  • When the Group is calling for the third and Mystery Mouseketool, Mickey says "Oh Toodles" with the others, but his voice can't be heard.
  • It is unknown how Toodles got into one of Daisy's box.
    • Also when we see Toodles popping out of the box, his circles aren't moving in his screen.
  • After picking the fourth Mouseketool (the last one), there are some bushes behind Mickey, they appear and sometimes disappear.
  • When Mickey and his friends are singing the rainbow song, Pluto isn't shown there.
  • Goofy was standing next to the door, the door was also closed, but a few seconds later, the door is somehow opened and Goofy didn't go outside first.
    • Also when the characters went outside, you can see the living room inside instead of the rainbow machine.
  • The doorknob of the storeroom is usually on the right side of the door, but throughout the entire episode, the doorknob was on the left side.
