Synopsis
Mickey, accompanied by Pluto, is playing Christmas carols on a stand-up bass for change, but all the stuff he is able to get is useless. He plays outside a rich man's window, and the spoiled brat kid inside refuses all the expensive toys his father and butler try to give him. Then, upon hearing Pluto's howling, the kid walks over the window and peers outside. Upon seeing Pluto, the kid decides he wants Pluto. At first, Mickey isn't selling, but when his bass gets destroyed by a passing sleigh and he sees a house full of poor children with their father (Pete) in jail and their weeping mother crying, he changes his mind and sells Pluto to the rich family. He uses the money to buy lots of toys and a Christmas dinner in a basket. Then, dressed as Santa Claus, he delivers it to the poor children and their mother, who is now snoring when he makes it back to their house. Meanwhile, the brat has been torturing Pluto; he throws expensive things (such as toys and even cakes) at Pluto, his father and the butler. Finally, the boy's father has had enough. After first sending Pluto away (by telling the butler to put Pluto outside), he drags his son onto his knee, pulls his pants down and spanks him, much to Pluto's delight.
Finally, Pluto and Mickey are reunited and enjoy a roasted turkey tied to the former's tail.
