The Mickey Mote was a Disney DVD remote control that was compatible with many Playhouse Disney/Disney Jr. DVDs, such as Numbers Roundup, Minnie's Masquerade, Big Construction Job, Bedtime With Pooh, and Choo-Choo Express. It could be used to identify shapes, colors, numbers, and more. Many children could use the Mickey Mote while watching their favorite shows and answer questions based on the show they're watching with a click of a button.
Appearance[]
Similar to a normal remote control, the Mickey Mote is a small, red remote control shaped like Mickey Mouse's head, several buttons in different shapes and colors, including a yellow star, a blue square, a green circle, an orange triangle, and an LED light in between Mickey Mouse's ears.
Compatibility[]
Programming[]
All DVDs that are compatible with your Mickey Mote have a simple tutorial for programming your Mickey Mote with your DVD remote control. You can find it on the bonus features or setup screen on your respective DVD.
The steps for programming your Mickey Mote is simple. The first step is to insert 2 AAA batteries by removing the screw on the battery cover on the back of the Mickey Mote. The second step is to enter the programming mode by simultaneously pressing and holding any two buttons until the LED in between the Mickey Mote's ears illuminates green, indicating the Mickey Mote is ready to program. The last step is to place the Mickey Mote and your regular DVD player remote on a flat surface like a table, at least 3 inches apart with the two ends facing each other. You will program the buttons in this order, up, down, left, and right. You deliberately press the respective arrow button 4 times. The LED will flicker after each press. On the fourth press, the LED will rapidly flash indicating that that button was successfully programmed. If you press a specific button too fast, the LED will flash red to indicate that you were going too fast, and you need to reprogram that button. Once you programmed all the buttons, the LED will flash rapidly and then out. This indicates you successfully programmed all the buttons and exited the programming mode.
