The Minotaur is a minor antagonist in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He is a half-man/half-bull creature that briefly has an encounter with Percy Jackson.
Background[]
Physical appearance[]
The Minotaur is a giant humanoid bull with a dark brown, almost blackened. fur. He has dark animalistic eyes, two large horns, what resembles a long beard, and, most famously, wears Fruit of the Loom underpants that have a hole for his tail to poke out of.
Powers and abilities[]
The Minotaur has incredible strength and girth and uses his full force when attacking. He can stand on his hind legs or get on all fours to run faster at his target. Like other monsters, when he is killed, he can still come back.
Role in the series[]
The Minotaur had already been known by the hero Percy Jackson, thanks to Grover Underwood sharing his Mythomagic cards with him. It was here that Percy first noticed that he wore tighty-whities which he found unusual. When Sally Jackson was driving Percy and Grover to Camp Half-Blood, they were suddenly accosted by the Minotaur who rammed into their vehicle. The Minotaur continued to chase them down where Sally, in an effort to protect her son, used his jacket to try and lead the Minotaur away. He caught Sally, but she was suddenly whisked away from his grasp. Believing that the Minotaur was responsible for Sally's "death", Percy charged at the Minotaur with his sword, only for it to get knocked out of his hands. Percy ultimately jumped atop the Minotaur, ripped his horn off and stabbed him with it, causing the mighty Minotaur to disintegrate. Percy would keep the Minotaur's horn as it is considered a "spoil of war".
