"Minotaur Mix-Up!" is the second segment of the one hundred and sixth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on March 21, 2016 alongside "The Creature of Doubloon Lagoon", and is the second segment of the eleventh episode in the fourth season.
Plot[]
On Argos Island, Monty is celebrating his third consecutive victory over Cubby at pirate checkers while stating that he never loses a challenge. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee then arrive, with the former stating that according to the rules of Argos Island, if Monty is challenged to a contest, he must accept. Also, the winner would become the ruler of Argos Island and the keeper of the Minotaur Treasure. Monty claims he's never been beat. Captain Hook challenges Monty to Pirate Paddleball before bouncing the ball three times. Captain Hook then loosens the strings so that Monty loses when he attempts. As a result, Captain Hook is the ruler of Argos Island and turns into a minotaur. Since there can only be one minotaur, Monty turns into his human form, to the shock of Jake and his crew.
As Captain Hook is happy about getting the minotaur's treasure, Monty tells Jake and his crew that being a mythical creature made him feel so heroic. After Jake mentions it, Monty knows that if he beats Captain Hook in a contest, they'll change back. Monty then challenges Captain Hook to the Argos Island obstacle course, which has dangerous traps, according to Izzy. Monty is only good at the obstacle course when he is a minotaur, which he is not. Captain Hook then accepts the challenge.
The first obstacle in the race is the famous clapping rocks. Monty and Captain Hook must run between them without getting squashed. Captain Hook runs through the rocks quickly, while Monty gets through after using Jake's Mighty Captain Sword to hold the rocks apart. The second obstacle is running through the Garden of Hydra while avoiding its hydra vines. Monty shows an example of how hydra vines are very grabby. Captain Hook makes it through the garden easily after roaring at the hydra vines, while Monty gets through after tying the vines into knots.
For the final obstacle, Monty and Captain Hook have to race through the Golden Apple orchard. Knowing what Captain Hook likes, Jake decides to hinder his process with the Golden Apples. During the race, Captain Hook is in the lead until Jake, Izzy, and Cubby drop Golden Apples for Captain Hook to enjoy. Monty passes by, and Captain Hook's attempt to pass him fails as he drops the Golden Apples, which he trips on. Monty wins the race, and as a result, he turns back into a minotaur while Captain Hook turns back into a human. Captain Hook demands a rematch but Monty roars him away.
Back on Pirate Island, Jake and his crew put the gold doubloons they collected into their Team Treasure Chest. On Jolly Roger, Captain Hook laments about having nothing to show for being a minotaur. A Golden Apple then drops out of Captain Hook's pocket, and he chases it until Bones appears, flinging it into the Never Sea.
