Molecule Man is a Marvel Comics character that appeared in Avengers Assemble and in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. He is a supervillain with the ability to alter the molecules of one thing to another.
Molecule Man was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Background[]
Official description[]
A powerful being with the ability to manipulate nonliving organic matter. Often feeling like there was no place for him, he escaped to a whole new planet and used his powers to create an incredible world of natural wonder, soon making it a popular destination for aliens and beings across the multiverse![1]
Powers and abilities[]
Molecule Man has the ability to alter the molecules of anything around him into something else. For example, turn metal into stone, or glass into water. In Avengers Assemble, he did this with the aid of his wand while in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, he can naturally do so by will.
Appearances[]
Avengers Assemble[]
Molecule Man only makes a brief appearance in the episode "Molecule Kid". In flashback, he was defeated by the Avengers when his wand is knocked into a sewer grate and supposedly lost. His son Aaron Reece inherits the wand, but becomes a superhero instead.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur[]
A radically different version of Molecule Man appears. This version is a powerful alien almost to the same degree as The Beyonder. He also serves as the main antagonist of Season 2.
Trivia[]
- His appearance in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is more in line with characters such as the Collector and Michael Korvac. His appearance in Avengers Assemble is more like the way he is in the comics where he is a human who uses technology at his disposal (although it was eventually revealed in the comics that his powers are innate, and that the technological wand is just a conduit).
