"Mom Knows What P.A. Did Two Nights Ago" is the 12th episode of the third season of Pepper Ann. It aired on January 15, 2000.

Synopsis[]

Pepper Ann tries to hide the fact that she saw an R-rated horror film from her mother, but the guilt and the scary scenes from the movie leave P.A. insane from lack of sleep.

Plot[]

Trinket hosts a meeting on what to decide to do with Pepper Ann at their next sleepover due to her shenanigans. Trinket and Cissy vote her out while the rest vote for her to stay, much to her happiness. She goes over what they will be doing at the sleepover, but when she mentions that they are watching a movie called Gutter Clowns, Lydia forbids her to watch it as it is an R-rated film. Pepper Ann is given crosswords to occupy herself, but she nevertheless ends up watching the movie with the other girls and gets frightened.

Pepper Ann returns home in the morning, but finds that she cannot sleep as the clowns scared her. She tries to spend a happy day with Moose by watching children's shows, but it is not enough to stop the nightmares. Not wanting to tell her mom, Pepper Ann suggests to Milo and Nicky that they have a sleepover of their own to study. They stay up late and they insist that Pepper Ann get some sleep, as she begins to hallucinate seeing the clowns. Fed up with Pepper Ann's behavior, Milo and Nicky leave.

Pepper Ann hides in the bathroom and loudly proclaims that she saw the movie with Lydia and Moose coming to take her out. Pepper Ann apologizes for disobeying Lydia as she was scared of being honest with her. Lydia tells her that even though she is upset with her, she understands how she feels and tells her that she just needs to remind herself that it is just a movie as one of the clown actors was in a commercial they saw. As she chooses to sleep in the same bed for the night, Lydia sees that Pepper Ann has fallen asleep and sleeps with her.
