Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) are a British surreal comedy group that created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Monty the Python from the Goof Troop episode "Hot Air" was named after them. Three people who worked for Disney, John Cleese, Eric Idle and Terry Jones, were well-known members of Monty Python. In addition, two of them, Cleese and Idle, worked together in The Wind in the Willows.
