The Moon Stage Theme is a piece of music from the DuckTales NES video game composed by Hiroshige Tonomura. It is the background music for the fifth stage of the game, which is set on the Moon. The "Moon Theme" background music has enjoyed a cult-like status in recent years.
In the game's remake, DuckTales Remastered, the song is, like all of the music from the original game, redone in an orchestral arrangement. A different, slower arrangement of the song is also heard over the remake's end credits. Both of these rearrangements were composed by Jake Kaufman.
This song is by far the most notable track of all the DuckTales video game tracks, sometimes even being considered among the most beloved tunes in video game history, such as by ScrewAttack!. This is particularly impressive for a track from a licensed game, a category of which it is quite possibly the most famous.
The song appears at the end of the DuckTales Season 1 finale, during the scene that reveals Della Duck to be alive in the moon. An arrangement of the song and a lullaby version with lyrics also appear in the Season 2 episode "What Ever Happened to Della Duck?!"
Look to the stars, my darling baby boys
Life is strange and vast
Filled with wonders and joys
Face each new sun with eyes clear and true
Unafraid of the unknown
Because I'll face it all with you
