Mrs. Murry is a character in the 2003 movie A Wrinkle in Time and in the 2018 remake. She is called Dana in the 2003 movie and Kate in the 2018 movie.

A Wrinkle in Time (2003)[]
At the beginning of the film, Dana Murry is described as a brilliant inventor according to Meg narrating to herself. Meg returns home upon hearing her mother calling her. The next day when Meg and Charles Wallace return home, Ms. Murry uses the Internet and researches what tesseract is, to which she tells her daughter that she researched a new school for her called Again, explaining to Meg that she would find a Happy Medium someday. That night, Dana walks to her children explaining that she couldn't sleep as it is almost midnight. Later, Mrs. Whatsit enters the house and transforms from her crow form to her human form and has a conversation with the Murry family, where she explains to Dana that there is one such thing in the real world as a tesseract just before she leaves and transforms back to her crow form.
The next day, Sandy and Dennys head off for soccer practice just as she tells her children that no one is allowed to leave. After taking the twins to soccer, Dana returns home with the groceries in her bag. Later when Meg, Charles, and Calvin encounter the Happy Medium in his cave, he tunes in to Meg's family home where Meg's mother feels sad that her husband disappeared, hoping that he would return sometime, leading Meg, Charles, and Calvin to rescue Meg's missing father at Central Central Intelligence at Camazotz.
She then later appears when Meg returns to the real world with Charles Wallace, where Meg approaches her mother who is happy to see Meg back after not seeing her for a long time, alongside Charles Wallace to which while Meg's mother is preparing pineapple for Charles Wallace, he recaps about his adventures through the power of tesseract. Meg then explains to her mother about what really happened to her father to which Meg starts to realize that everything around Meg in this dimension is not real, as everything she feels around her is an illusion as she finds herself back at Camazotz again.
After Meg rescues Charles Wallace from the Man with Red Eyes (and It, the being itself), Meg and Charles Wallace return to the real world via tesseract with their father back in the real world where Mr. Murry's wife finally reunites with her husband just as she is happy to see Meg and Charles Wallace back where Mr. Murry explains to his wife that Meg saved him just as he praises Calvin for helping him as well. After Mrs. Ws praise Meg for her heroism alongside Charles Wallace, Mrs. Murry walks alongside her family mingling with each other while listening to Charles Wallace sharing his experience about the adventures he had with Meg and Calvin.
A Wrinkle in Time (2018)[]
At a young age, Meg's mother Kate shows her daughter what love really issues while her father explains that she can feel love, even if she can't see it as Meg's father explains to her daughter that love"is not gone but enfolded" according to his wife. Suddenly after her husband's disappearance, Meg approaches her mother where she tells her daughter to write an apology letter to Principal Jenkins as well as Veronica for the unacceptable behavior she had at school, much to Meg's frustration in adapting to have a new life without her father. She also explains to Meg that she must avoid using her father's disappearance as an excuse to everyone at school.
Feeling worried that her father would never return, Kate tells her daughter to not give up hope. Meg and her mother become distracted upon hearing Charles Wallace talking to Mrs. Whatsit downstairs. As Meg's mother approaches Mrs. Whatsit, she explains to her to know if there is anything she can help her to which Meg suddenly discusses with Mrs. Whatsit to know how she knew about her. Mrs. Murry explains to her that she should visit the house some other time, to which she explains to Meg's mother that tesseract does exist, to which Meg doesn't understand what tesseract does just before she leaves.
The next day during a conversation with Meg's mother, she explains to Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin that Meg's father was a scientist who told the audience about tesseract before her disappearance. During the flashback, Meg's mother was present with her husband during a science presentation discussing with the crowd about tesseract, much to his wife feeling disappointed for being impatient during it. She then explains to her husband that the next time he goes to a presentation, he shouldn't rush it while discussing with the audience about tesseract. Kate also appears in a flashback singing "Flower of the Universe" to her daughter in one of Meg's memories.
After Meg uses the power of tesseract to return home, she returns to her family’s house to meet her mother while who was worried that she missed Meg so much. Calvin shows Kate that her husband Alex is alive just as Kate and Alex both reunite with each other. Alex recaps to his wife that Meg was the one who saved him from the It just before Meg bids a farewell to Calvin. Charles then approaches his parents who are happy that he is back while Meg thanks the Mrs. Ws for all of their help to her.
