Ms. Mahoney is a very calm and collected woman. She is shown to be very patient with everyone, even when Tater accidentally knocks down several book cases. However, she cannot stand it when people use the book return as a diaper bin. Ms. Mahoney sees potential in people, knowing that Tater's help in the kids section could transfer to the teens section and that Lucita could easily follow Tater's example. She is a kind and caring woman who loves to see people enjoying a good book.

Ms. Mahoney is a tall woman with large bushy black hair, thick eyebrows, gold earrings, and a pencil sticking out of her hair. She wears a bright yellow shirt, and skirt ended dungarees. She wears a green jacket over her clothes and has a button that lists that she knows ASL. She also wears a lanyard when she works.

- Ms. Mahoney, in some ways, resembles Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia. The most glaring comparison would be the pencil sticking out of her hair, resembling the sticks sticking out of Anne's hair.
