Kiff and Barry help Helen with her new healthy muffin business.
Plot[]
To raise money to fix the coffee machine in the faculty lounge, the Table Town Middle School faculty hold a healthy bake sale, but the students are uninterested in the healthy food items on sale. Kiff and Barry buy some healthy muffins from Helen, which unexpectedly turn out to be delicious. After the muffins become a hit around school, Helen decides to expand her muffin business and hires her students as employees. However, upon learning that Helen wants to employ them as salespeople rather than bakers, they all quit except for Kiff and Barry, who want to encourage Helen to do something positive for once.
Helen's Muffins sets up a booth outside Slim Pickins. Kiff and Barry man the booth and turn it into a huge success, while also managing to bring the muffins to the attention of Let's Table That co-host Tippy, who then invites Helen on the show for an interview about her surging business. On the Let's Table That set, however, a shadowy figure warns Kiff and Barry about the muffins. After the shoot, the duo meet up with the mysterious individual at Saddles. He turns out to be Principal Secretary, who hints to Kiff and Barry that the muffins' ingredients are not what they seem.
Kiff and Barry visit the Table Town Science Lab to get a muffin sample analyzed by Professor Totsy, and the analysis reveals that the muffins are actually disguised cupcakes. Upon being confronted about this by Kiff and Barry, Helen admits the truth, but also points out that the duo are forbidden from saying anything about it due to the NDAs they signed when Helen hired them. After Helen leaves a kitchen timer on the doorstep of the Chatterley residence as an intimidating reminder for Kiff and Barry to stay silent, Kiff becomes determined to expose the truth.
Using a voice changer app, Kiff, pretending to be an anonymous informant, calls Tippy and tells her the truth about the muffins. Kiff and Barry then meet Tippy at the Let's Table That studio, and after assuring Tippy that the "informant" is safe, the duo agree to appear on the program to expose the truth themselves. Just as the show is about to begin, however, Tippy is informed that "the powers that be" have ordered the exposé to be shelved. Glarbin emerges from the shadows and reveals himself to be behind the last-minute cancellation, arguing that revealing the truth about the muffins would shake public faith in Table Town's basic institutions. As Kiff and Barry are whisked off the set, Tippy regretfully begins reporting on another slice-of-life story instead.
Kiff and Barry stage a protest next to the Helen's Muffins booth and attempt to expose the truth themselves, only to be ignored. Meanwhile, Helen has a frustrating phone call with her mother, after which Helen declares that she is through with muffins. Although Kiff assumes that Helen is finally righting her wrong, Helen then explains that her mother, who is also her talent agent, called her with the news that she has been offered another acting role as a baker, and that she is only leaving the muffin business to avoid being typecast. In his office, Principal Secretary enjoys his own homemade healthy delicacy, "ants on a log", surrounded by numerous unsold packages of the dish from the bake sale.
This episode marks Katie Crown's debut voicing Professor Totsy, with Crown taking over the role from the character's original voice actress Ayo Edebiri.
