Nastia De Vil would have been the primary antagonist of the 101 Dalmatians Plantation series, had the initial pitch been produced.
She would have been the niece of Cruella De Vil, and neighbor to the Dalmatian Plantation.
Bio[]
On her best day, Nastia is a spoiled, little brat. When she doesn't get what she wants, she closely resembles (according to the pitch document) the little girl in The Exorcist. Whilst her aunt has her iconic car, Nastia has a souped-up bicycle that she drives around like a madwoman, with her cat, Slink riding in the front basket, ringing the bell. Nastia and Bobby Radcliffe would have been in the same class at school, where she would constantly try to buy the puppies from him, to no avail. She wants the Dalmatian puppies for herself, and is always trying to steal them from the plantation, or blackmail Bobby into giving them up.
Amongst her lackies are two boys called Ernst & Simon, her equivalent of Horace & Jasper, whom she gets to help her by promising them loads of money (of which she has plenty) and free rides in her limo for the rest of their lives. Among her staff is the stoic, over-worked underpaid butler, Frederick, as well as Rosemary, her nervous nanny who is counting down the days to her retirement.
Amongst the pitched story ideas for the series, Nastia would have naturally played a role in most of them. These include:
- Catching the Dalmatian puppies sneaking around her estate and plotting on using their skins to make a new bicycle seat cover.
- Nastia stealing one of the puppies and challenging Bobby to a bicycle drag race. The winner takes all the Dalmatians.
- Getting partnered with Bobby for science class and using the project to put Bobby under her mind control.
- Tricking Bobby into giving her the deed to the plantation.
Notes[]
- Cruella would ultimately gain a niece in 101 Dalmatians: The Series, with Ivy De Vil.
