Ned Needlemeyer is the protagonist of the Nightmare Ned TV show and adventure game. He is a 10-year-old boy with an overactive imagination, experiencing nightmares on a daily (or nightly) basis in which he loses in a regular basis with some exceptions in "Headless Lester" (where the nightmare was in fact the counselor's this time), "Magic Bus" (which he manages to stop a dummy from driving the bus into the son), "Ned's Life as a Dog" (in which he manages to outsmart Conrad and Vernon by putting cat food into their food) and "The Accordion Lesson" (in which Ned's mother comes to his rescue). He lives with his mother, father, and baby sister. He has also a grandfather named Ted Needlemeyer who has only appeared in the video game. He is understood more by his mother more than his father, seems to like comic books (as shown in "Ants") and excels in grades above his peers (as shown in "Show Me The Infidel"). He also expresses a dislike for dolls in "A Doll's House". He also has moments of being paranoid (like when he destroys the toaster at the end of "Robot Ned" after his nightmare in which Samurai-7 targeted him) or being jerkish (like when he hogs the Happy Bunny ride at the cost of toddlers' happiness or he destroys the cowboy's violin in "Show Me The Infidel"; though to be fair to Ned in the latter case, he was at his wits' end and Dirk was behind the whole roller-coaster experience).
