Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and director of the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium. He became a well-known science personality after being among the group of scientists that re-classified Pluto as a dwarf planet. He ended up citing the Disney character, who was created the same year Pluto was discovered, as being a significant contributor to the public attachment to the planet and the backlash that ensued after the reclassification became official.
In October 2009, Tyson taped a segment for an episode of PBS's NOVA ScienceNow entitled The Pluto Files at the Magic Kingdom with Pluto in tow.
In 2014, he guest starred on Gravity Falls as the voice of an intelligence enhanced Waddles. He voices an animated version of himself in Future-Worm!. He was mentioned in an episode of MECH-X4, the Stuck in the Middle episode "Stuck in the Dark" and the BUNK'D episodes "Bad Dog!" and "Reversal of Fortune".
