Nell Jackson (neé Trotter) is the protagonist of the Disney+ series Renegade Nell. She is a young woman who is framed for murder and turns into a highway robber to survive.
Nell Jackson, born Nell Trotter, grew up with her younger sister in a small tavern owned by her father. Sometime after the death of her mother, Nell met with Captain Jackson and quickly wedded him and left. He was killed in a war that, supposedly, took Nell's life. However, Nell was revealed to have survived thanks to the unlikely appearance of a spirit named Billy Blind who would enter her and imbue her with enhanced fighting prowess that kept her safe from harm. With nowhere else to go, Nell took off on her horse and headed home where she wound up getting into more trouble than she bargained for.
Personality[]
Nell is a tomboy that doesn't take things sitting down. It is heavily implied that she managed to get by in life through her own determination and hard work. Despite this, she was open to the idea of getting married and seemed happy with the decision, even though it ended in her husband dying anyway. Nell stands for justice and will do anything to help those in need of it. She can be feisty and rowdy, but she is ultimately a good person.
Trivia[]
She hates being called "Nelly".
Nell is one of the few Disney protagonists to be a widow.
Nell may or may not be LGBTQ as when Polly kissed her, she only had a mild reaction from it, most likely because she was taken off guard by her actions.
Since Episode 6, Nell has carried a double-barreled flintlock pistol as her personal firearm of choice.
