Nicole Hall is the deuteragonist of the 2021 Disney/Pixar animated short Twenty Something.

Background[]

Nicole serves as Gia's older sister. When Gia felt nervous that she doesn't look exactly like her older self on her ID, Nicole told the bouncer that it is her birthday, allowing her and Gia to enter the club. However, during her hangout with Gia, she felt nervous with Nicole, especially when it comes to ordering something at a bar, which Gia wasn't aware of her other personalities being pragmatic with each other. After Gia is revealed to have three versions of herself, Nicole defended Gia from the embarrassed patrons which Gia felt nervous, thinking that the patrons are upset with her. She also became supportive of Gia, telling her to have confidence in not being hard on herself, as Gia felt confident in becoming a twenty-one-year-old, impressing Nicole about this, which she and Gia continue dancing happily together, thanks to Gia's confidence.

Role in the short[]

Nicole approaches a bouncer, along with her sister, Gia to which as the latter shows him her ID (which Gia doesn't look like her older self yet) and as Nicole tells him that it is her sister's birthday, he allows the two to enter to enter. As Gia enters the club, Nicole takes her to a bar where she gives her a menu so that she can order something, which Gia feels unsure of what she should order. Feeling nervous about this, Nicole reacts to Gia who is fidgeting, as Gia retreats into the restroom to make sure she is comfortable in participating in the dance club.

Later, the three versions of Gia encounter Nicole who is dancing with a group of patrons. As Gia attempts to dance with Nicole, she stumbles into another patron who fails to have a conversation with him. Soon as Gia loses her balance, she is revealed to be three versions of herself just as Nicole protects her sister from the embarrassed patrons only for Gia's three selves to hide into the bathroom again. Nicole later approaches the versions of Gia as Nicole tells Gia not to be hard on herself, telling her that she is turning into a decent adult, which Gia transforms into her twenty-one-year-old self, making Nicole happy. Nicole and Gia happily enjoy dancing together as Gia feels confident of herself as an adult.
