Trivia[]

  • Most of his works revolve around characters struggling with mental health and abuse. This is mainly due to Hawley's experience working at the Legal Aid Society where most of his cases revolved around child abuse and neglect.
  • Hawley regretted making Lucy in the Sky, as it was meant to be a Reese Witherspoon black comedy film, and he opted to instead change it into something with his sensibilities.
  • Hawley was supposed to do a feature film centered on the character Doctor Doom. Unfortunately, the announcement was made close to Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox and all its subsidiaries and not much progress was made. While Hawley did speak to Kevin Feige about exploring the concept anyway, no further movement was made on the project.
