Nurse Spex first appears when Will Stronghold is placed in her office after failing his power placement test and needed medical assist. The nurse gave him a pack of ice for his head and then checked his vitals with her x-ray vision. According to her, she was working as a nurse already when his father Steve Stronghold first started at Sky High and kicked her through a wall. Will asks when his powers will emerge. Nurse Spex explains that it is impossible to say, and that most heroes stem from two superpowered parents while sidekicks have at least one ordinary parent, but it has been shown that sometimes a child of two superpowered parents doesn't receive any powers whatsoever, that being Ron Wilson.
