Nurse St. Cloud is a supporting character in the 1987 Touchstone Pictures film Ernest Goes to Camp.
Background[]
Personality[]
Nurse St. Cloud is a woman dedicated to her job as camp nurse and her heritage as part of the Kikakee tribe. While she keeps her feet firmly planted in the present, she respects her history and has a lot of pride in her grandfather maintaining the old ways. She tends to be reserved and even stern at times, but does have a playful side and loves to tease Ernest whenever he needs his shots. St. Cloud cares a great deal for the kids at the camp, including the juvenile delinquents whom she does not hold back with scolding when they go too far with messing with Ernest.
Trivia[]
- Nurse St. Cloud is of Kikakee descent, further claiming that she and her grandfather are the last of their people. In real life, Victoria Racimo is a quarter Lenapi Indian on her mother's side. She is also of Irish, Filipino, and Spanish descent.
- Nurse St. Cloud was supposed to serve as Ernest's love interest. While elements of this are still present in the final film, most of the romantic subtext was removed at the behest of Disney, who felt that Ernest should not have a definitive romance. The trailer depicts a scene cut from the film where St. Cloud attempts to kiss Ernest on the cheek, only for him to cower at the last minute.
- While Nurse St. Cloud never appears in any of the sequels, Victoria Racimo did serve as an acting consultant for Ernest Scared Stupid.
