- “This heiress caught everyone unaw-eiress. Odessa was born into a life of glam and scam as the daughter of the head of New York's elite Thieves Guild! Her jam? Stealing superhero gear and fencing it to fund her social life. Unfollow this villain.”
- ―The Beyonder describing Odessa Drake
Odessa Drake is a Marvel Comics character that appears in the Disney Channel series, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. She is a social media influencer who partakes in stealing from superheroes.
Odessa Drake was created by Nick Spencer and Humberto Ramos.
Background[]
Personality[]
In terms of personality, Odessa is like a dark mirror version of Casey Calderon, as both are obsessed with gaining social media likes. However, she is much more vain and self-centered and will smooth talk her way to get what she wants. She is not afraid to show off and it is implied that she is intelligent to some degree. She is also shown to be dismissive of certain things such as not taking into account Casey's cultural background by comparing something special to Christmas rather than the more appropriate Hanukkah. Despite this, she does have a few positive traits, such as returning items she has no understandable use for to their owners like when she let Moon Girl have her tape player back, respecting traditional customs when both of them apologize for almost playing music in the temple during Shabbos, and splitting her ear bud with Moon Girl so they can battle with the latter's music without causing any disturbance.
Physical appearance[]
Odessa is a rotund woman, possibly of Japanese descent, with light skin and long raven hair. She also wears red lipstick, long red nails and has large golden ball earrings. Her usual attire appears to be a black top with long purple sleeves, a long golden skirt, black high heels and large gold sunglasses with purple lenses. Without her sunglasses, she has dark eyes and purple mascara.
Her supervillain attire consists of a dark red and black jumpsuit with golden linings and a long purple cape. Her sunglasses also now wrap around her head like a helmet.
Appearances[]
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur[]
Odessa Drake made her debut in "Today, I Am a Woman", where she appeared as the main antagonists. When Casey Calderon prepares for her bat mitzvah, the latter gets a message declaring that Odessa Drake, one of the most influential people online will also be attending the bat mitzvah, after finding out that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur were attending. The day of the bat mitzvah arrives with everyone in attendance including Odessa, the latter of whom seems more interested in Moon Girl's tech. When Moon Girl goes to look for her pack, only to find that Odessa has stolen it. The Beyonder then reveals that Odessa is the daughter of the head of New York's elite Thieves Guild and that she steals superhero gear to fence it to fund her social life, then tells the viewers to unfollow Odessa like he does on the screen. A fight between the two breaks out while Casey performs the ceremony. The fight disrupts the ceremony, but Casey manages to help Moon Girl defeat Odessa, despite her threat of spreading bad word of mouth on her phone, though Casey's triplet cousins took and smashed it before she could send the message. Moon Gil then left Odessa tied up in a closet to get picked up, that person being the second Captain America who is none too pleased over his stolen things.

Trivia[]
- In the comics, Odessa was the daughter of Castillo Drake who sold her soul to a demon so that she could bring the Thieves Guild back into prominence in the criminal underworld, and to aid her father in the search for immortality. Her physical appearance is a stark contrast in the comics where she was a tall, slender, brown woman (possibly South Asian, or Latina), with tattoos on her arms. She also frequently clashed with Spider-Man and Black Cat, but later became the love interest of the latter.
- Odessa appears to be the only villain that even The Beyonder seems to dislike.
