Everyone is chasing the feeling of a win. But if someone wins... somebody has to lose. Or maybe, maybe winning is just a matter of how you look at it.
―Odo narrating the premise of the series to the audience.

Odo is a character in the 2025 Disney/Pixar animated series Win or Lose. He is a young boy who mostly goes around giving unsolicited and/or creepy advice to others and loves to drink orange soda for unknown reasons.

Background[]

Personality[]

Odo's main characteristic is simply giving eerie advice to his peers, which often makes them feel creeped out. In spite of this, his advice is genuinely helpful in some aspects, showing that he does mean well regardless of his creepy disposition, as outside of giving warnings to others, he does help Rochelle to call her mother after she gets lost in the city and helps to take the group photo of the Pickles after the championship game, though it is never made clear if the said team won or lost.

Physical appearance[]

Odo is a young boy with blond hair and sapphire eyes, which turn orange whenever he is on a sugar rush from a sip of orange soda. He wears a sleeveless red shirt with a small eye in the middle of it, dark and light grayish shorts and black shoes with white insignia signs on them. He also has pierced ears, and he appears to be pre-adolescent.

Trivia[]

  • According to David Lally, the show's producer, Odo's name is an acronym for "Orange Drink Oracle".[1]
    • It is unknown if Odo is his genuine name or a nickname.
  • Odo's bowl cut makes him slightly resemble an orange. His lips are also lightly orange from him constantly drinking the soda. His rather unusual pale complexion gives him the appearance of an albino, though it is unknown if he is one or not.
    • His orange tank top also has an all-seeing eye symbol on it, which hints towards his prophetic and ultimately ethereal existence as a character.
  • Despite having one line in almost every episode, the prophetic words that Odo speaks leads to some kind of foreshadowing for all of the main characters:
    • In "Coach's Kid", Laurie is suffering from anxiety and Sweaty is growing all the bigger. Sitting in the dugout with Laurie, Odo drinks his orange soda and eerily tells her, "Hit or be hit. Your fate is your own" prior to disappearing before Laurie's eyes. These words could mean Laurie to hit the ball or be hit by the ball and to accept her fate regardless; this is foreshadowed even further by Coach Dan's words of "[letting] the game come to [Laurie]."
    • In "Raspberry", he warns Rochelle to "Beware the chicken." Which is foreshadowing to when she meets the Bleacher Creatures and Chicken Kevin at the house party when she goes to sell the red valkyries Vanessa got her. Eventually, it also connects to when Chicken Kevin was trying to steal Rochelle's keys to the snack shack to steal money.
      • He also acquired his orange soda from Rochelle at the concessions stand in this episode.
      • In the same episode, he gave Rochelle two quarters to use the payphone to try and call her mom, eventually leading the two to reconnect and reconcile.
    • In "Pickle", when Vanessa busts her head through a door and into a room at the house party, he can be seen sipping his signature orange soda and telling her to "Answer the call of the unknown." This line foreshadows Rochelle in that she is trying to call her mom by the payphone, but the latter hardly ever answers until she met up with Rochelle in person shortly afterwards when on her way to the championship game.
    • In "Steal", when Ira was at the house party searching for the Bleacher Creatures, Odo can be seen refilling his orange soda bottle before assuring to Ira, "There are many fish in the sea. Choose wisely." This not only references the Swedish Fish that he helped to steal with the Bleacher Creatures (and branded him a thief), but it can also possibly refer to the many choices one can make in life and the friends we make along the way; we just need to choose who we befriend with caution.
    • In "Home", Dan is sleeping in his car until the next morning when he is awakened by Odo drinking more of his soda and prophetically telling him, "Better not blow it." This is not only in alignment with potentially blowing the championship game as a whole, this also serves as a cautionary line, foreshadowing that Dan needs to control his anger and bottled up emotions, lest he inflates even more under pressure and immense stress due to situations beyond his control.
      • He's also the one who takes the final picture of all the Pickles together with all of their perspectives shining through.
      • He seemingly has the ability to teleport.
    • In "Raspberry" we see Odo at the same gas station Rochelle stops at. In "Pickle" we see Odo at the same house party that Vanessa arrives at.
