The Oil Rigs are locations that appears in the 2011 Disney•Pixar animated feature film Cars 2. It is a big building in the middle of the northern Pacific Ocean, owned by oil tycoon Miles Axlerod.
Description[]
The Oil Rigs are owned by oil tycoon Miles Axlerod. These oil platforms are clandestine structures. They are kept under complete secret by scrambling satellite images, and by protecting them on sea by combat ships. The oil rigs are owned by the criminal organization directed by Miles Axlerod, which plans to get the world dependent on them for fuel, by securing this location, and its oil.
The oil platforms sit on four legs, showing that they are fixed platforms. Each platform has a flare stack and various cranes.

Cars 2[]
In the beginning, Leland Turbo sends a message to his friend Finn McMissile about the Oil Rigs that are bigger than anything they have ever seen before. At the Pacific Ocean, C.H.R.O.M.E. agent Finn McMissile was travelling with Crabby that he was looking for a car, but later Tony Trihull surrounds and menaces Crabby when he was in his territory. McMissile is behind the Combat Ship and watches all the Oil Rigs at the sea. He tries to contact Leland Turbo and watches the Lemons and their boss Professor Z, later he spies them and looks a camera, but later Grem and Acer show Professor Z the corpse of Leland Turbo but into a cube. Later Finn escapes from the Lemons and explodes them. After Finn was surrounded, four lemons with their blowtorchs tried to kill him and Finn falls to the sea.
During the Lemon meeting at the Casino di Porto Corsa, Miles Axlerod (The Big Boss) was making his speech and tells his fellow cars that every innocent car will race back to gasoline. And they, the owners of the world's largest untapped oil reserve will become the most powerful cars in the world.
Cars 2: The Video Game[]
In Cars 2: The Video Game, the Oil Rig appears as part of the tracks and arenas.
In the opening of the Story Mode, Professor Z, Grem, Acer, and the Lemons kidnapped Finn McMissile at a room, but Mater rescues Finn against them, Finn and Mater chase Zûndapp and his lemons, when Finn chase them he makes that the Lemons explode there and later Zûndapp cowardly escapes in his helicopter, but McMissile and Mater defeat him.

- In the trailer, it is said that it makes the Bermuda Triangle look like a kiddy pool.
- The oil rigs are the only location in Cars 2 that aren't car-ified (integrating automotive elements in its architecture). Production Designer Harley Jessup commented: "John Lasseter said it was already "car-ified": It's creating their food."
- The Oil Rig is the only location from Cars 2: The Video Game that does not have a track in Cars 3: Driven to Win.
