Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u is a 2022 American documentary film based on the making of Olivia Rodrigo's highly-acclaimed debut album SOUR, directed by Stacey Lee, and released on Disney+ on March 25, 2022.

Summary

The film is about a road trip Olivia Rodrigo took from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles with her live band, where they performed songs from SOUR on different spots along the trip like Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy's Motel & Café, Arcosanti, and the Red Rock Canyon State Park. It also features behind-the-scenes footage with Olivia and SOUR producer Dan Nigro, as well as interviews where Olivia discusses the inspiration and meaning behind the songs with special guests like Jacob Collier and more. The documentary won "Best Music Documentary" at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards and was nominated for "Best Longform Video" at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

Release

Olivia Rodrigo announced Driving Home 2 U through her social media on February 17, 2022, alongside a teaser trailer. The film premiered on Disney+ on March 25, 2022, and later became available on Hulu on May 1, 2022. On March 21, a new version of "jealousy, jealousy" was released by Disney+ as part of the film. The film also had a one-time airing on Freeform in the United States on May 1, 2022.
