"Omega Kids" is the second segment of the twenty-third episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
All the kids at 3rd Street School have fallen ill after eating Tuna Fish Tacos, leaving T.J. and the gang as the only students in school.
Plot[]
The Recess Gang complain about the unusually crowded school that is preventing them from having any fun whatsoever. They are further annoyed that they were unable to get any fish tacos for the day and wish things were different. The next day, the Recess Gang arrive at school to find that it is deserted. Miss Grotke arrives and tells the kids that all the students at the school called in sick due to the fish tacos (she and the faculty had more high quality food). Realizing that they have the school all to themselves, the Gang proceed to do whatever they want in class. They are extra excited to have recess all to themselves and for lunch have pizza.
The next day, the Gang are suddenly forced to do extra learning by Miss Grotke who makes them study the entire fourth grade curriculum and even a little bit of fifth grade. They get bored with the big empty playground and recess and for lunch have left over pizza that is almost inedible. This continues for the next couple of days with the Gang becoming desperate for interaction. Gretchen comes up with the idea to look for a way to make it look like they are all sick and has them turn their tongues blue with gum and have green dots on their faces. The Nurse, horrified by their appearance, calls the CDA who puts them on lockdown (Gretchen got it backwards). The Gang solemnly watch as the other kids return to school to see them.

Trivia[]
- In reality, the school would have been shut down while all the students were recovering from poisoning, or simply canceled class. The school would also have most likely been sued by the children's parents and custodians who were forced to work.
- This is the first episode to feature T.J.'s catchphrase "tender".
