Open Range is a 2003 revisionist western film directed and starring Kevin Costner and based on the book The Open Range Men by Lauran Paine. The film also stars Robert Duvall, Annette Bening, Michael Gambon, and Michael Jeter.
Synopsis[]
A couple of cattlemen find their lifestyle usurped by a corrupted lawman. With no other choice, they are forced to take up arms to defend their livelihood.

- Michael Jeter's last live-action film role following his death. The film is dedicated to his memory. His true final film would be The Polar Express which was released the year after.
- Anthony Hopkins was such a huge fan of the film, he wrote letters to Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall about it.
- Kevin Costner was disappointed that the film got an R-rating, believing that it was due to the violence being "original".
