Artwork for the PKNE box set released 2021
PKNE (short for "Paperinik New Era") is a continuation to the PKNA and PK2 comic book series, albeit it centers more on characters and plots from the former. Unlike both PKNA and PK2, the New Era doesn't have a regular comic series, but it is instead published as multi-part stories in Topolino.
New Era stories published so far are:

- The Mark of Moldrock
- The Event Horizon
- Droids
- Any legendary night
- Free zone
From 2019 onwards, a new series was spun off in a hardcover series called Topolino Fuoriserie, which also continued new Wizards of Mickey chapters (alternating books). The stories printed so far:
- A new hero
- Danger Dome
- Ur-Evron
- The Days of Evron
- Obsidian
- The Days of Duck Avenger (unreleased)
"Free Zone" was originally planned to be released in the hardcover series after Roberto Gagnor's initial hexalogy but due to the many delays (some pandemic-related), it was printed as a two-parter on Topolino instead.
