Patty Failure is the protagonist in Disney's 2020 comedy film, Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made. She is the single mother of Timmy Failure. She has a boyfriend named Crispin and lives with Timmy in Portland Oregon.

Patty was portrayed by Ophelia Lovibond, who also played Carina in Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: The Dark World.

Personality[]

Patty lives with her son, Timmy in Portland, Oregon and has a boyfriend named Crispin. In the film, Timmy's Failure Mobile belongs to her is stolen right out from under him. Her son also learns that she is dating a meter maid who is friendly and aloof. Later, after Timmy gets suspended for three days by Crocus, she got angry at him that she got fired, ended Total Failure Inc. for his own good, while expecting him that he needs to be a regular kid, fit in and grow up. Then after Timmy accidentally backing up his truck into a pole, she comes to see him in the hospital and he apologizes for his bad behavior. She decides him that she wants him to re-open his detective agency.

Patty's son, Timmy is what she is looking out for. Because of the lack of father figures, Timmy believes it is his duty to look after her. He constantly tells her that she would not have to worry about money "soon" because his detective agency will take off one day.

Role in the film[]

Patty is introduced as Timmy Failure's mother where she lives with her son throughout her life. During her life, Timmy narrates that one of her transportation methods, the Failure Mobile, belongs to his mother and Timmy narrates the times where he can or cannot use it. During a conversation at the Burger Bus, Patty suggests to her son that he needs a bigger office in order to keep his office growing and in order to do so, she needs a larger room. Patty suggests to her son to finish his meal to be more prestige albeit staying at Portland.

Patty later engages in a conversation with Frederick Crocus where he tells her that neither of Timmy's behavior nor grades are improving, which Patty replies that Timmy has a behavior in a different way. Crocus replies to Patty that Timmy would be sent to detention if he continues this, which Patty denies, telling him that this is not necessary, only for Crocus to counter, telling her that this is Timmy's final year at elementary school, making it a significant change to Timmy when it comes to middle school and that Timmy should stop living in his own world. After a conversation, Patty tells her son to apologize to his teacher for disrupting the class, which Timmy refuses, telling his mother that mistakes were made, which made her very upset about Timmy risking to be suspended in class. Later at home, Timmy approaches his mother working on the bills for Timmy's new office, which she tells him that he doesn't need to worry about her salary, telling him to try harder at school by apologizing to Mr. Crocus sincerely.

After talking with Mr. Crocus, Patty becomes furious with her son, telling him that she is serious for Timmy's disruptive behavior at class. She later returns home paying her bills and when Timmy approaches her, she tells him that all he needs to worry about is school by promising her to try harder in apologizing. Later after Timmy returns home, he hears his mother telling him to open the door because her friend Crispin Flavius is outside which she invited him for dinner. During dinner time, Crispin engages in a conversation with Patty while Timmy tries to talk to her, which she tells him that she is busy just as Crispin shares his story with Timmy. Patty later approaches Timmy to know where her Segway is, which Timmy tells her that Molly Moskins was the one who took it, enforcing an order to Timmy return it to her immediately just before calling Molly's mother.

Back at home, Timmy's mother reveals to her son that he really likes Crispin, recapping that she and Crispin did anything fun last time. As Timmy returns home, his mother reveals that the rent's price is increasing and that she cannot afford to pay the renewal, she tells him that they must move to another place, which Timmy refuses, just as he argues with his mother, feeling sensitive about his agency's fate. After Timmy returns home for his disruptive behavior during a trip to the Bonneville Dam, his mother becomes upset with her son for his behavior, telling him to grow up and stop living in an imaginary world, just as she shuts down Timmy's makeshift office Total Failure, telling her son to act like a normal person and again, grow up.

The next day, Patty approaches her son who tells her that she found a new job while Timmy narrates that his life changed ever since he lost his agency. Furthermore, Timmy's mother later enters the hospital and finds out that Timmy is all right, telling her that Crispin and the law enforcement apprehended the purse snatcher as he explains that he wanted to get his agency back, especially when he needs to adapt in being professional as his mother revealed that she made a mistake in the past, understanding that Timmy is desperate to get his agency back. Furthermore, Patty is seen attending the Animal Awareness rally at Cathedral Park where she sees her son bringing the Failure Mobile which she was looking for, just before his son gives out a wonderful speech to everyone, happy that Timmy made a big impact to the world.
