Pegasus is a winged horse in Hercules and its television series. Pegasus acts as Hercules's personal steed. He is voiced by Frank Welker.
Personality
Described by Zeus himself as "A magnificent horse with the brain of a bird", Pegasus' behavior mixes elements of both a noble steed and bird-like behaviors such as his clicks and whistles and even perching on Hercules' shoulder at times.
Appearances
Hercules
Pegasus was created by Zeus using clouds as a gift for his newborn son, Hercules. That night, however, Hercules was kidnapped. Pegasus did not reunite with Hercules until the now-teenager, went to the Temple of Zeus. Zeus summoned a fully-grown Pegasus, while telling Hercules of their history. Zeus described him as: "A magnificent horse! With the brain of a bird...". Pegasus remained alongside Hercules throughout their adventures. He was not very fond of Megara at first, sometimes being openly hostile to her. When Hades plotted against Hercules, Pegasus was lured and captured by Pain and Panic, in the form of a female Pegasus. He was rescued by Meg, who convinced Pegasus to go find Phil. Pegasus became much more friendly towards Meg afterwards. Presumably, Pegasus remained alongside Hercules afterward.
Hercules: The Series
Pegasus tagged along many of Hercules' adventures and acted as a mode of transportation. In Hercules and the Arabian Nights, Pegasus challenged Aladdin's Magic Carpet when Hercules and Aladdin battled. After they leanred they are apart of a shceme from both their enemies they team up while Pegasus and Carpet become good friends.
House of Mouse
Pegasus makes minor cameos in the series often seen in the crowd.
Disney Parks
Pegasus appeared in the Hercules themed parades around the time the film first came out and appears in the bubble montage of the Florida version of Fantasmic!. There was also a deleted Go the Distance sequence for World of Color that would have featured Pegasus and Hercules, but the sequence was removed for an extended Aladdin sequence rather then splitting the sequence between the two films.
Kingdom Hearts series
Pegasus did not appear in the first game of the series, though he did have a cup named for him. In Kingdom Hearts II however, Pegasus plays a part in the story, helping Meg escape the Underworld and assisting Sora in fighting the Hydra.
