Peoplitis

Peoplitis is a deleted song from the 1977 animated film: The Rescuers.

It was to be sung by a deleted character, a bear named Louis to The Rescuers during a flashback in which Louie recalls a visit from Penny after adoption day at Morningside Orphanage after she tells him that she worries that she might never get adopted. Louis was to be voiced by the late Louis Prima (the voice of King Louie in 1967's the Jungle Book).

Lyrics[]

Luis: (Scat intro)

Have you heard about this latest craze that's hit the human race?

They call it "Peoplitis" and spread it every place

Oh, Peoplitis people, they fuss and fight all day

Then on Sunday morning, they go to church and pray

Peoplitis, Peoplitis, why the things that people do

They're funnier than animals who live inside the zoo

The only major difference as far as I can see

I'll look at them for nothing, but it paid to look at me

La la la la la la le, scoo be do be do be dee,

Now, people think we animals who live inside the zoo

Are treated like an animal, well, that just isn't true,

'Cause all we do is sleep and eat, just take a look at us

I'll bet you'd never seen the skinny hippopotamus

Peoplitis, Peoplitis, oh the things that people do

Sometimes, it makes you wonder if they're wrong ones in the zoo

The men you see have all got beards, there are no faces left

They look more like the baboons than the baboon does himself.
