- “Caramba! Are you loco?! I'm not going back to that nuthouse where they insult caballeros to their face!”
- ―Pepito Serape[src]
Pepito Serape is a character created by Guido Martina and Romano Scarpa, appearing in the comic story "Menace of the Witch's Ruby" in 1953 (translated and collected by Fantagraphics in 2017).
A singing Spanish parrot, Pepito Serape is Dopey's best friend. He accompanied Dopey and the other Dwarfs as they worked in the Dwarfs' Mine. However, his squawking often angered the other Dwarfs, especially Grumpy. On one particular day, Grumpy demanded Pepito leave the mine. Pepito returned to the Cottage of the Seven Dwarfs only to find Queen Grimhilde, who had transformed Snow White into a miniature statue and took on the guise of Snow White herself.
When the Dwarfs returned to the cottage, Pepito tried to reveal the impostor Snow White. Only Dopey initially believes him, though Doc quickly realizes when "Snow White" doesn't tell them to wash their hands before supper. Grumpy is the last to realize, and kicks Pepito out of the cottage beforehand. After Queen Grimhilde captures his brothers, Dopey flees the cottage and reunites with Pepito. Pepito reluctantly agrees to return to the cottage with Dopey and several forest creatures. Together, Pepito and Dopey use Queen Grimhilde's witchwood wand to revert the Dwarfs back to their normal size and defeat the Evil Queen.
Now accepted by the Dwarfs, Pepito joined the celebration with a feast prepared by Snow White.
