Peter Thomas Scolari was an American television, film, and stage actor, director, producer, and comedian. For Disney, he replaced Rick Moranis as the role of Wayne Szalinski for Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show, on which he also served as producer and directed several episodes. Scolari's other Disney roles included Donald Himmel in Camp Nowhere, Edwin Hadley in The Ultimate Christmas Present, Louis in Sorority Boys, Mel in Fosse/Verdon, and Derek Sanders in Perfect Harmony. He also voiced Preston Vogel in the animated series Gargoyles.

Scolari was born in New Rochelle, New York and began performing at age 13 during his high school years. He enrolled at Occidental College in Los Angeles as a theater arts major, but left a year later. He joined the Colonnades Theatre Lab, a repertory theatre in Manhattan, working with actors, such as Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Jeff Goldblum, and Michael O'Keefe. He appeared in several stage productions before relocating to Los Angeles.

He got his break in television, starring alongside Tom Hanks in the sitcom Bosom Buddies. His other television appearances included Happy Days, Newhart, Hotel, The Love Boat, Batman: The Animated Series, Family Album, Dave's World, Reba, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Girls, Gotham, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Evil. His film appearances included The Rosebud Beach Hotel, Corporate Affairs, Camp Nowhere, Looks That Kill, and The Polar Express as a motion-capture performer.
