The Piñatas Bandidas (Spanish for Bandit Piñatas) are characters who appear in the Mickey Mouse short, "¡Feliz Cumpleaños!".
Background[]
As their names imply, the Piñatas Bandidas are a group of anthropomorphic piñatas mostly consisting of animal-shaped piñatas and star-shaped piñatas led by a donkey-shaped piñata (voiced by Danny Trejo) sent to crash Mickey's birthday party. Like piñatas in real life, their appearances can vary whether they can be of any shape (such as an animal or a star shape) and the fillings placed in the piñatas can mostly be candies or other objects inside of it.
Role in the series[]
Arriving at the area where Mickey Mouse and his friends are celebrating their birthday, the Piñatas Bandidas storm in the area where they consist of their leader, a donkey piñata, who leads the other piñatas to crash Mickey's party. Within the lead piñata's army are a bull, a dragon, a dog, a rabbit, and some star piñatas. Throughout the ambush, chicken, dog, star, and bull piñatas attack the gifts while a piranha piñata chews on decorative papeles picados while Mickey notices the destruction the piñatas are causing. Elsewhere, the bull piñata chases two victims while a pirate piñata chases a lady chicken followed by star piñatas throwing junk across the town just as the lead piñata kicks a table full of presents on it. Mickey then uses a fake donkey tail to strike him just as he and Mickey engage in a duel. Upon attacking Mickey, the lead piñata, along with an armadillo piñata and some star piñatas laugh at Mickey just as the star piñatas shoot exploding firecrackers which Mickey dodges them while two bull piñatas hit him while the lead piñata, the chicken piñata, and a luchador piñata tie up Mickey together.
With Mickey tied up, the luchador piñata asks their leader to know what to do now to which the lead piñata decides to give Mickey a "bite" on a piece of cake. In the group of piñatas telling Mickey to have a "bite" on a piece of cake are pirate, princess, rabbit, dog, and pig piñatas. However, much to Mickey's protests, the chicken and luchador piñatas push Mickey onto his cake just as the piñatas leave, much to Goofy and the Three Caballeros (consisting of Panchito, José, and Donald) reacting to what happened to Mickey throughout the ambush. Hearing Mickey crying over the cake that was ruined which was caused by the piñatas who forced him to take a "bite" of the cake, he decides to take on the piñatas by himself in order to save his party. Mickey then smash opens a star piñata followed by Mickey doing the same to the other piñatas, dispatching the lead piñata's henchmen. Reacting to what Mickey did to his henchmen, Mickey tells the lead piñata to never come back. However, instead of leaving just as Mickey requested him to, the lead piñata instead confronts Mickey where he attempts to throw a flan at him to which Mickey throws a stick-like weapon at the lead piñata, causing him to explode, dispatching all the Piñatas Bandidas. With the bandits destroyed, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and all of their friends celebrate Mickey's heroic plan with Mickey's birthday saved.
