"Pie in the Sky" is the fifty-third episode of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. It premiered on February 22, 1990, and is the fortieth episode of the second season.
Plot[]
The Rangers help a lost swallow return to Capistrano, and discover a bad "chicken" pie outfit using an electromagnet to catch the migrating birds.

- Mrs. Sweeney and her son Todd are named for Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
- Also, their plan is about similar to the plot in Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street where Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett secretly making and selling meat pies out of human flesh, while Mrs. Sweeney and Todd tried to use various migrating wild birds for their pies because they're cheaper than chickens.
- Jack and Nickels are named for Jack Nicholson, whom Jim Cummings based his voice for them on.
- Monty mentions Alfred Hitchcock when the Rangers hear the sound of birds coming from the hideout; a reference to Hitchcock's 1963 film The Birds.
- At times, Mrs. Sweeney sings her own rendition of the nursery rhyme Sing A Song of Sixpence.
