The Pig Waiter is a character in the Disney Parks.
History[]
Development[]
The Pig Waiter was created in the former America Sings attraction at Disneyland in the Tomorrowland section, where he was placed in the "Gay Nineties" sequence where he sang in the final part of the sequence, which opened on June 29, 1974. However, America Sings closed on April 10, 1988 in order to retheme the attraction to Innoventions, with most of the animatronics moved to Splash Mountain at the Critter Country section, which opened on July 17, 1989. He was planned to be a character for Splash Mountain repurposed as Br'er Pig. However, the Pig Waiter animatronic repurposed as Br'er Pig was replaced by Blossom-Nose Murphy instead for the "Everybody's Got a Laughing Place" sequence. But he could still be seen on a poster of Splash Mountain.
Role in the attraction[]
The Pig Waiter appeared in the third act, "The Gay Nineties", in the former America Sings attraction during the musical number "Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay" where the Pig Waiter could be seen spinning while singing. The scene then looped into the attraction's final act "Modern Times".
