Pretty Freekin Scary is a multi-camera comedy series, based on the book series of the same name. The series is produced as a co-production between Cloudco Entertainment, Kickstart Entertainment, Apt. 11H Productions and CakeStart Entertainment, being the first series produced under CakeStart's first-look deal with Disney.[1] It ran from June 15, 2023 to August 18, 2023 on Disney Channel.[2]
On June 30, 2024, TVLine confirmed that the show was cancelled after one season, thus ending the show on a cliffhanger.[3]
Synopsis[]
The series follows the adventures of Frankie Ripp, a 14-year-old girl who has a seemingly perfect life – great parents, annoying little brother, lifelong BFF – until she dies. After some heated debate in the Underworld with the Grim Reaper herself, Frankie is allowed to return home, but only if she's accompanied by her new Underworld guardians, Pretty and Scary. Frankie will now have to adapt to her ‘once-dead’ status in the most challenging setting of all…Middle School.
