Prince Ari is the prince of Galonia who appears in Elena of Avalor. He is the younger brother of Princess Rebecca and the grandson of Miriam.
Role in the series[]
In "Festival of Lights", Ari is returning home to Galonia with Rebecca and Miriam on a ship when a storm comes up and damages their ship. Rebecca and Ari try in vain to bail the water out as the ship sinks. Realizing they won't make it, Ari tells them they have to swim for shore, but Rebecca reminds him that Miriam can't swim. So, Rebecca hacks down the mast, and makes it into a makeshift bridge to the shore. Ari and his family are welcomed into the castle by Princess Elena and her family but are unable to go home due to their ship being destroyed and sunk. Rebecca explains that they were on their way home to celebrate Hanukkah. Miriam reveals that their menorah is still on the ship. Elena and her family offer to help them celebrate Hanukkah, despite being unfamiliar with the holiday. While Miriam takes a nap, Rebecca tells Elena and her family all about Hanukkah.
While Luisa prepares the food and Elena and Rebecca go off to get chocolate, Isabel and Ari go to Isa's workshop to make dreidels for playing "Spin the Dreidel." While teaching Isa how to play, Ari starts thinking about their lost menorah and grows sad. Isa then suggests that they make a new one, which delights Ari. Just as they are adding the candles, Elena and Rebecca come in having found the lost menorah which is now in pieces. After fixing it up, Elena, Rebeca, Isa and Ari make Hannukah gelt for the party with Isa most recent invention. But while setting up for the party, there's an accident and the menorah ends broken in even more pieces than before. When Rebecca sadly shows everyone what happened, Ari runs away into the palace. Isa goes after him to make sure he's okay. A few moments later they both return with Miriam holding the new menorah they made her. She then reminds Rebecca that that is what Hanukkah's all about, (carrying on even when faced with the hardest challenges and making the most of what they have). The royals then celebrate a wonderful Hanukkah together.
In the series finale "Coronation Day" Ari and his family return to Avalor along with many other royals to congratulate Elena on how for she's come on the day of her coronation and 20th birthday and celebrate with her. After the Four Shades of Awesome have been defeated, Ari and his family are among the numerous attenders of Elena's coronation that evening. After Elena has been crowned Queen of Avalor, Ari dances with Rebecca as the celebration begins.
