"Prince Randall" is the second segment of the fifty-fourth episode of Recess.

Synopsis[]

Randall blackmails King Bob into giving him the throne.

Plot[]

During recess, T.J. dresses up like King Bob and puts on a roast for his friends. Randall is spying on this spectacle and attempts to tattle to King Bob himself. However, instead of punishing T.J., King Bob declares that Randall has cried king too often and forbids him from speaking to him again under threat of being sent to the dodgeball wall. As for T.J., having being always amused by his antics, King Bob invites him to a gathering of the elementary school kings to put a comedic performance next month.

Disappointed that his attempt had backfired, Randall later goes to Edgy Eddie's Sneak and Snoop Shop at the mall and buys a spy camera. While wandering around, he spots something interesting and takes a photo. The next day, Randall approaches King Bob, who attempts to have him punished but Randall insists he take a look at the photo in his hand. Upon seeing it, King Bob demands to know where he got it but Randall declares it unimportant and reveals he had 65 more copies in his floor safe to release publicly unless his demands are met. King Bob quickly lifts the decree of silence on him but Randall isn't finished with him yet.

Later, King Bob calls a gathering of the grades to begrudgingly announce that he had made Randall a prince and his heir apparent with all the power and authority to put out any command he desires, much to the confusion and outrage of the student body. As King Bob recuses himself the Recess Gang discuss this sudden reversal of fortunes for the snitch, which T.J. finds suspicious, but Gretchen asks what can they do.

Having already established a candy tax, Randall realizes he needs an assistant and appoint Menlo to the position. Soon, he turns the cheese box into a dungeons for any kid who refuses to pay his candy tax, using the candy to make a large bust of himself. Gus and Mikey tell their friends of what was happening on the playground, so T.J. decides they must find out how Randall rose to power if they hope to put a stop to him. However, Menlo reports on Gus and Gretchen's inquiries to Randall. Fearing they might threaten his position, Menlo suggests targeting T.J. to intimidate the others into line.

The Recess Gang reconvene having come upon empty with their questioning. Gretchen points out that King Bob knows the truth but has since gone missing. They are soon approached by Randall, who demands they kneel, but T.J. defiantly refuses, resulting in him being sent to the dodgeball wall. Spinelli points out that she nor any of the others bow and asks if he was going to take them too. Randall responds by ordering for T.J. to be pelted even harder. As he is dragged away, T.J. begs his friends to find King Bob.

The Recess Gang search the playground for King Bob unsuccessfully. Vince suggests he might've dropped out but Gretchen points out that there was no computer record of an absence. Soon, T.J. comes walking towards them with a black eye and passes out. Mikey cradles him in his arms and cries out, before spotting King Bob amongst the kindergartners.

Approaching King Bob, they inform him of Randall's abuses of power, but he brushes them off. Spinelli then suspects that Randall is leveraging him, which he admits to. Acknowledge the Recess Gang as his most loyal subjects, he shows them the photo, causing them to react with shock, further reinforcing why he can't allow any of Randall's copies to see the light of day. However, T.J. stirs and declares he has a plan.

King Bob calls another gathering of the grades and has Jerome and Jordan had out folded papers. Randall is happening by and, while disappointed that Bob didn't clear that with him, he is confident his leverage will still hold. He soon spits out his drink upon seeing T.J. atop the jungle gym as he introduces King Bob. Reluctantly, he confesses to having an older sister named Sheila and, the other day, he accompanied her to the mall, and he obediently does whatever she asks. He then instructs everyone to open their papers, which are Randall's 65 copies of a photo involving King Bob dressed like a girl by his sister, causing everyone to erupt in laughter. Randall assumes that King Bob would be shamed into quitting, leaving him as the new king. However, T.J. asks Bob to have faith before sharing his own sister Becky embarrassed him as well, causing everyone to laugh with him before Spinelli shares that her own brother Vito forced her to try his old shoes and she kept them. Randall tries turn things around back to the fact that King Bob was dressed like a girl, but Lawson relates that his own sister styled his hair in pigtails, making him as funny as King Bob.

With Randall's blackmail having lost its effectiveness, King Bob strips him of his position and powers and sentences him to a month of recesses in his own dungeon, to the jubilation of his subjects. As he is taken away, Randall remarks that it was moist while it lasted. The episode ends with the chocolate Randall being taken down and its candy is up for grabs.
