Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn't mean they are lost forever.
―Professor X to Doctor Strange[src]

Professor Charles Xavier (also known as Professor X) is a superhero who appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Professor X was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Appearances[]

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness[]

He is a resident of Earth-838 and is a member of the Illuminati alongside Mister Fantastic, Black Bolt, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, and Karl Mordo. When Thanos launched his crusade for the Infinity Stones, the Illuminati were able to defeat him using the Book of Vishanti. However, Doctor Strange of that universe confessed that he had caused an incursion, an event in which a reality is destroyed. He volunteered to be executed to prevent further harm, with Xavier and the rest of the Illuminati agreeing.

Years later, America Chavez and another version of Doctor Strange would wind up in Earth-838. Mordo brought Strange before the Illuminati for trial, with Xavier telepathically projecting the memory of the execution of his universe's Strange onto Strange to reveal the truth. But before they could vote to execute Strange, Wanda Maximoff (possessed by the Scarlet Witch from Strange's universe) began to invade the facility. Xavier decided to entrust America to Strange despite Mordo's objections, as he entered Wanda's mind and attempted to free her from the Scarlet Witch. This was unsuccessful, and the Scarlet Witch proceeded to snap Xavier's neck, instantly killing him.

The Marvels[]

Whilst Professor X doesn't appear in the film, he is mentioned, when Dr. Hank McCoy informs Binary that Charles asked for an update on the woman she found who crossed into their reality.

Deadpool & Wolverine[]

I know your brother. As much as I wanna fucking kill you, every bone in my body wants to fucking kill you, he would not let me stand here and watch you die.
Wolverine to Cassandra Nova[src]

Charles does not appear in this film, but is mentioned a couple of times by both his sister, Cassandra Nova and Wolverine. When Cassandra first appears, she tells Wolverine and Deadpool that she tried to strangle Charles while they were both in the womb and it was put towards her being sent to the Void as a baby. Deadpool asks how Cassandra knew Charles, referring to him as Chuck, before she tells him that she is Professor X's twin sister. Later just as Deadpool tries to convince Logan to kill Cassandra, Wolverine says no and spares her life as he believes the Charles he knew wouldn't want him to kill Cassandra, no matter how bad she is.
