This movie reveals that Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. was started by the heroic Kree Mar-Vell as a way to atone for the horrible crimes of her fellow Kree by harnessing the power of the Tesseract into a faster-than-light engine. After the alien cat Goose recovers the Tesseract, Nick Fury restarts Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.
- In the comics, P.E.G.A.S.U.S. stands for Potential Energy Group/Alternate Sources/United States.
