"Pudding Ball" is the second segment of the seventh episode of The Weekenders. It premiered on April 22, 2000 alongside "Party Planning".

Synopsis[]

The gang competes in a pudding throwing contest. However, aggression and competing go near the heads of the gang.

Plot[]

Friday[]

The gang is taking part in a Helpers Helping the Helpless event called Pudding Ball where kids toss pudding balls at each other. While excited at first, Tino begins to feel that this is more of a sport rather than a game, and worries that he will be humiliated, but Carver, Tish, and Lor assure him that things will be okay because they will play together. Unfortunately, everyone is put in groups of two, resulting in Tino and Tish getting paired, and Lor and Carver being a separate team. As they ponder the consequences of this, they vow to remain cordial with each other and to not get carried away with the game.

Saturday[]

As the game starts, players are quickly hit out, but everyone is having fun. Lor and Carver prove to be a very competent team with them working in tandem to take out several other players in quick succession. Tino and Tish are shown to be more methodical with their approach and begin to see everyone as an enemy. When they spot Bluke and Frances, who are relaxing rather than playing, the two expertly take them out, though the two oddballs barely seem to care, or notice. As the day winds down, every team has been struck out, except the Weekenders themselves. Because of this, the game is being carried over to the next day.

At the pizza place, the group is quietly stern with each other, but they quickly make it known that they have become incredibly competitive and hostile, just as Tino had previously predicted. As they angrily call each other out and accuse the other of using dishonorable tactics, they now vow to take the other team out and win the game.

Sunday[]

The second day of the game arrives as the group armor up and prepare to take each other on. Due to it being Sunday, this is the final game and they risk making it a tie.

Tino and Tish are once again slow and methodical, while Carver and Lor are much more aggressive with trying to take the other team out. As hours pass and the day comes near the end, Tino and Tish resort to cheating and lay a trap. Unfortunately, Coach Colson falls for it and announces that the two are disqualified. Shortly afterwards, he falls for a trap that was set by Lor and Carver and they get disqualified as well, thus ending the game with no clear winner. As punishment, the group is forced to clean up all the pudding balls. They finally vow to no longer get carried away with competition going forward.
