"Quackstreet Boys" is the second segment of the tenth episode of the Disney Channel series Chibiverse.
Synopsis[]
In this documentary learn about the rise and fall of The Quackstreet Boys.
Summary[]
Star Butterfly narrates a behind the scenes documentary called The Other Side of the Tunes, centered around the rise in fall of the biggest boy band in Chibiverse history, The Quackstreet Boys, consisting of Dewey Duck, Scott Denoga, Cricket Green, and Barry Buns. They explain that they first came together after being invited to the Haunted Mansion, where their screams of terror come off as a perfect harmony that gained the ghosts' admiration, which inspired them to form their own band, which is named Quackstreet Boys by Dewey who not so subtly asserts himself as leader.
The group spends the next 12 minutes having fun with music when they're discovered by Polly Plantar, who has become a big-time music producer that signs them on. They initially struggle to come up with their first song, made worse by Dewey's constant interruptions, but when he takes a break, they manage to write a song called "Fame and Fortune", while also promising not to let their fame change who they are, they agree, and the song becomes a Chibiverse-wide hit. Polly turns the The Quackstreet Boys into pop sensations with their own personalities, Scott the Sensitive One, Cricket the Bad Boy, and Dewey the Showboat, while Barry does not receive a title, and sends them on a month-long, planet wide tour of the Chibiverse on Phineas and Ferb's Rollercoaster.
As the boys become an overnight sensation, their fame begins to take a toll on them and their friendship. Scott becomes overwhelmed by the never ending love letters and promposals from fangirls as well as the fans themselves who constantly swarm him, Cricket injures his feet by kicking everything in his way which puts him in a double foot cast, Barry has an existential crisis over not having a personality which makes him change his look many times to figure out who he is to no avail, and Dewey's showboating distances him from his friends as he constantly takes front stage while taking the spotlight off of the others and leaving them stuck in the background, as they begin to forget about why they started the band in the first place.
At the top of their game, everything goes downhill fast as Scott, Cricket, and Barry have started losing interest in the band, while Polly refuses to take responsibility as their manager, Cricket's double foot cast has made him a reluctant footwear icon, Scott is drowning in fan mail which gives him a record breaking amount of paper cuts, and Barry has given up on finding his personality, while Dewey, who shows no sympathy towards his friends' plight, demands they get ahold of themselves so they can make his dream come true. The others realize that their fame has changed who Dewey is, breaking their promise, so they refuse to continue performing. Outraged, Dewey quits the band and becomes a solo act, but it ends almost immediately after admitting that he just wanted their emotional validation.
A week later, the group attends a costume party where Dewey expresses his regret over going solo and apologizes to the others. They forgive him and they all get back together, and Dewey suggests performing one last time, only to find that the Chibiverse has already moved on from the Quackstreet Boys, as Polly has hired a new girl group called The Spice Squirrels, consisting of Tater Ramirez-Humphrey, Kristine Sanchez, Kiff Chatterley, and Penny Proud, though Dewey questions why Kiff is the only squirrel.
