Ronald Lee Ermey, better known as R. Lee Ermey, was a American actor, former drill sergeant, and United States Marine Corp, who has since pursued a career in acting. He was famous for frequently playing authoritative figures, often but not always military personnel. One of his most famous roles was Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's 1987 war film Full Metal Jacket.

He did a few roles at Disney, such as providing the voice of Sarge in Pixar's Toy Story and later its two sequels, General Sims in an episode of Kim PossibleColonel Thrift in Fillmore!, Coronel O'Malley in Recess: School's Out and an announcer for the Terran Federation in Starship Troopers, and playing Bill Bowerman in Prefontaine, Preacher Brian in Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back and a jockey master in Frank McKlusky, C.I. His role as Sergeant Hartman was spoofed by the Genie in the Aladdin TV series.
