"Rainbow Sea Caves" is the second segment of the seventeenth episode of Ariel. It was first made available on Disney+ on November 27, 2024 alongside "Daddy Daughter Adventure Day" before making its television premiere on November 29, 2024.
Plot[]
King Triton serves Ariel and Flounder seaberry pancakes. Ariel states that she and her friends will be going to the Rainbow Sea Caves today to check out the rainbow bubbles. Triton went there once when he was a kid, and he had so much fun. Ariel and her friends will have a great time, as long as they pay close attention to the signs along the cave. Ariel and Flounder thank Triton for the pancakes, and he tells them that he remembers a sign at the end of the caves, but all he remembers is that it is very important. Ariel and Flounder will pay close attention to it.
They then meet up with Lucia and Fernie and enter the Rainbow Sea Caves. They are delighted by the sights there. Ariel then sees two tunnels up ahead. Flounder clears a sign, which tells them to take the left tunnel. However, Ariel sees rainbows on the other tunnel, and tells everyone about the rainbow bubbles. Fernie and Lucia support Ariel, and they take the right tunnel to see the rainbow bubbles. However, they end up right back where they started.
They then start all over again, and this time, they take the left tunnel and decide to pay attention to the posted signs. Lucia assumes that they've reached the end of the tunnel and wonders which way they should go next. Fernie then sees a way, but Flounder sees a sign regarding air vents with bubbles; they should swim slowly so they don't get bounced around. So far, they're going slow, but Ariel sees a sound of rushing water, and she goes fast. Eventually, the vents blow Ariel into Fernie, Lucia, and Flounder, who then bounce around as a result. Ariel then promises to be on the lookout for the next sign.
They then come across the rainbow bubbles, and are fascinated by them. Ariel is about to swim with the parrotfish when Flounder warns her about following a sign. So far, they find no signs, and Flounder states that this is the end of the cave, which contains a sign which is very important. Ariel, Fernie, and Lucia head into the rainbow bubbles area while Flounder looks for the last sign, which a parrotfish clears up. Flounder then states that the sign means no swimming in the bubbles. Ariel wonders what could go wrong with that, followed by Fernie and Lucia.
As a result, they get covered in rainbows. The parrotfish then kiss all over them, and they leave the rainbow bubbles. However, more parrotfish follow them, and kiss them. Flounder then finishes getting the goop off the sign, which means no swimming in rainbow bubbles because parrotfish love everything rainbow. Everyone then leaves the Rainbow Sea Caves and return to Triton, who now remembers what the sign at the end of the cave said. Ariel and her friends didn't follow the signs, and she apologizes for not paying attention to them. Flounder accepts the apology, and Triton tells them that they just have to rush up so the rainbow colors come right off. They then go to wash up.
