Randall "Randy" Edelman is an American film composer and conductor, who has received 12 BMI Awards winnings and one Golden Globe nomination. For Disney, he composed the score for films, such as Angels in the Outfield, Tall Tale, The Big Green, and Underdog. He also composed Touchstone Pictures films, such as Six Days, Seven Nights, Shanghai Noon and its sequels, and Corky Romano.
Edelman was born in Paterson, New Jersey and graduated from Teaneck High School and later attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Throughout his career, Edelman wrote and produced songs for artists like Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John, and his future wife Jackie DeShannon. However, he gained higher prominence by scoring films for various movie studios. Some of his most notable film compositions include Ghostbusters II, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Beethoven, The Last of the Mohicans, The Mask, Gettysburg, Billy Madison, Osmosis Jones, and Leap Year. He also scored music for the television series MacGyver.
